Want to know if VegFest Oahu 2017 made a difference on the attitudes and behaviors of the attendees? So did we! We asked you to fill out a post-event survey and are having a dance party over the results. We are particularly proud of these stats: more than three-quarters of you (77%) said you were inspired to continue to research about vegan issues even after VegFest Oahu. And almost 80% of you said that you would shop differently after VegFest Oahu and are more than 50% likely to purchase vegan “meats” and “cheeses” at restaurants and grocery stores. VegFest Oahu’s Free Vegan Samples Tent was nothing short of an incredible success! Thanks to our generous contributors, we handed out thousands of vegan samples to attendees. The lines never stopped. The crowd was diverse and many had never tried vegan meats and cheeses before. It was absolutely amazing to be able to be front and center in educating our local community about the wide variety of tasty plant-based alternatives to animal products.
The Blessing Tree at VegFest Oahu grew leaves throughout the festival as attendees wrote their wishes and prayers on paper and attached them to the tree. This piece of the festival was organized by Donna Lay, who transcribed the messages on every leaf so they could be shared here. [Read more…]
