Want to know if VegFest Oahu 2017 made a difference on the attitudes and behaviors of the attendees? So did we! We asked you to fill out a post-event survey and are having a dance party over the results. We are particularly proud of these stats: more than three-quarters of you (77%) said you were inspired to continue to research about vegan issues even after VegFest Oahu. And almost 80% of you said that you would shop differently after VegFest Oahu and are more than 50% likely to purchase vegan “meats” and “cheeses” at restaurants and grocery stores. At VegFest Oahu events we strive to be plastic-free to minimize the pollution into our air and oceans that come from plastic waste. We have two strategies to help us achieve that. First, is requiring all our vendors to use compostable packaging for their products sold at VegFest Oahu and compostable foodware containers and utensils for all on-site dining. We have compiled a list of resources below on where to purchase compostable products and hope that all companies soon will move towards using these earth-friendly alternatives to plastic.
