We are looking for positive people to volunteer for these roles at VegFest Oahu 2017. If you are interested, please send us an email with your name, phone and Volunteer Tent preference to us at: Team@VegFestOahu.com
People with a Truck or Van
VegFest Oahu 2017 needs 3-4 folks with a truck or van to help us move bagged rubbish to our dumpster about 2 blocks away on event day September 2nd. Other volunteers will deliver and load the bags into your vehicle. You’d do a run – with those volunteers – about every 60 minutes. During your 2 hr “on call” shift you’d probably have active rubbish duty for about 30 minutes. You get: a VegFest T-shirt, 2 hr. free King st. parking, and our sincere gratitude. Please let us know that you can help make VegFest Oahu a BEAUTIFUL place to be! Email us: Team@VegFestOahu.com
House of Truth
ARE YOU… Hungry to see changes in the world? Wanting to serve and contribute to the solution? Eager to share the vegan message in a powerfully positive and joyful way? Then this is YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We invite you to become a Volunteer Counselor at the VegFest Oahu HOUSE OF TRUTH.
BOOTH DESCRIPTION: The House of Truth at VegFest Oahu will provide a highly effective and informative experience for festival attendees to view the realities of industrialized factory farming. We offer them $1 to watch a 4-minute video called “Farm to Fridge” via laptop/ipads. After watching the video, attendees will be encouraged to talk to House of Truth Counselors to give feedback, ask questions, and receive resources about the benefits of being vegan.
GOAL: Last year the House of Truth had 4 viewing stations on laptops/ipads and was able to educate over 100 people about the horrors of factory farming and the value of going vegan. This year’s goal is to have 9 viewing stations available and educate more than double that number!
VOLUNTEER ROLE: Your role is Greeter/Counselor. You will stand near the entrance to the booth and explain the “Pay per View” opportunity to interested attendees, encourage them to do it, and then set them up at a viewing station with headphones. After the attendee views the video, you will offer to be available to talk with attendees and answer questions and provide resources.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
1) Be Vegan, with general knowledge of how a plant-based program impacts health, environment, and animal welfare.
2) Commit to one shift at VegFest Oahu on September 2, 2017. Shifts are two hours long, available times are: 12:00pm – 2:00pm, or 2:00pm – 4:00pm, or 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
