VegFest Oahu will be as cool as we all make it together. Your participation is requested to make it a transformational day for our island community! We need help in the following 4 areas. Are you in? Set-Up or Pack-Up Team
Help us bring VegFest Oahu to life on the morning of the festival and/or celebrate the day’s victories with us at the end while we put it all away and leave no trace on the land. Looking for a cheerful and passionate crew who will come early and stay late to help us make the magic happen. Will you join us?
VOLUNTEER ROLE: Set-Up Shift is 8:30am to 11:30am and Pack-Up Shift is 5:30pm to 7:30pm. You will assist with a variety of activities, including: hanging signs, helping vendors load/unload gear, setting up tables and chairs, laying cord covers, opening boxes and displaying literature stacks, etc.

Free Vegan Samples Tent
The purpose of our Free Vegan Samples Tent is to give festival attendees an opportunity to taste plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy without having to risk spending money on unfamiliar products. We will be offering bite-sized samples of 2 kinds of vegan sausages, 2 kinds of vegan cheese, vegan jerky, and non-dairy creamy spreads. Last year we fed over 1000 people, some of them said it was their very first taste of vegan meats and their eyes went wide in surprise of how much they liked it.
VOLUNTEER ROLE: You will either be part of the Prep Table, slicing up product and arranging platters, or part of the Serving Table, greeting attendees, handing out samples, and answering their questions. Shifts are 2-1/2 hours long. You will have a chance to indicate your preferences on the Sign-Up Form.

House of Truth Tent
The House of Truth at VegFest Oahu will provide an effective and informative experience for festival attendees to view the realities of industrialized factory farming. We offer them $1 to watch a 4-minute video called “Farm to Fridge” via laptop/ipads and headphones provided at the tent. After watching the video, attendees will be encouraged to talk to House of Truth volunteers to give feedback, ask questions, and receive resources about the benefits of being vegan.
VOLUNTEER ROLE: You will position yourself in front of the House of Truth tent and explain the “Pay-per-View” opportunity to interested attendees walking by and encourage them to do it. For those that agree, you will then take them inside the tent and set them up at a viewing station with headphones. You will stay alert for when the attendee finishes viewing the video and then you will offer to talk with them about what they just saw and answer questions. Repeat as many times as your shift allows. Shifts are 2 hours long.
